Went to my local petco last week and saw some convicts or HRP's someone brought in. there was a breeding pair of convicts or HRP's and about a couple hundred little fry spread throughout the tanks. I wanted the pair but I went home and decided to think it over , a couple days ago I went back thinking surely the breeding pair would still be there and they were gone... should have seen that happening so I looked around for the fry. Only three were left yes three. The "fish specialist" said one guy took the pair and another guy bought the babies thinking he got all of the fry however the three managed to stay hidden. Anyway I picked up the last three for a dollar a piece and was lucky enough to get one that looked really nice. Anyway to get to the point in the pics below do you think I have some HRP'S or convicts I'm not sure how to tell them apart, could they be convict x hrp?

The fins on what I think the female is are bluish turquoise and on what appears to be the two males the fins have a red/blue tint. It's hard to get the colors in the pics as I am using only a cell phone camera

Looks like convicts to me. The female is definitely Con. HRP don't have that much orange on the belly nor the spots on the fins. Body shape is also rounder and not elongated like HRP. The other one I cant really tell but if they are from the same batch then they are convicts as well. There is also the possibility of Hybrid and they aren't showing the HRP features yet.

Here are mine for comparison

This is my con for comparison don't let the the light or dark color fool you. Cons come in all shades of grey. Aggression is also a key factor she bullied all my bigger male HRP's Cons are much more aggressive than HRP.

I'd say they're convicts based on the fact that convicts are WAY more common than hrp. My local fish store got some Honduran blue points the other day. After some reading I found out there is no such thing. I would just call them convicts.
