So I walked by my tank around 1230am. I usually do this to see how everyone is doing and I like watching the polys with the lights out. However this time was not a pleasant one...
I found my female ~12" endli with one of the ~9" ropefish halfway down it's mouth!!! So I freaked out. Grabbed some nets and tried to catch said endli. Luckily in the commotion she released the ropefish. Dazed and a bit sluggish I scooped out said ropefish and the other ~10" ropefish and put them in a separate tank.
First evaluation shows no obvious injuries to either fish, but I'm just glad I caught it when I did.... Someone's eyes are bigger than their stomach. Needless to say I just dropped in some food for the endli and her tank mates. You know just in case they're hungry...
