So we were invited over to an old friends house this afternoon and among other interesting sights there I spotted this guy in a corner of the living room behind some large houseplants.ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1409436262.441528.jpg
I'm not a gar guy so I've no clue which species it is.

24-36 inches in a aquarium and Max length in the wild is 6 feet

Oh okay.I doubt this one will get anywhere near that minimum size since the tank it was in looked to be a 125.Here is another gar that was in the tank.

Funny I have the same cheezy barrel decoration in my gar tank but I chopped it up into a sponge filter.

He looks just like mine. (Spotted Fla. Gar)
Stripe down the side and through the eyes is a good give away. Along with the more "chunky" torpedo look, unlike the slender one in the 1st pic.

Lol,the decor of the tank was definitely interesting...no gravel but the bottom was cluttered with all sorts of artificial objects.

That's a florida gar they get 18 inches in aquarium and 3 feet in the wild. Florida gars are the smallest species of gars.
