Didn't know if anyone else really knew but on Sept. 18th citizens of Scotland (living in Scotland) will have a chance of becoming an independent country and break it's union with England (from ~300 years ago). I wanted to know the opinions of the Scots and English of this forum on this vote. If a majority vote for separation then Scotland would have to abandon the pound and would most likely join the EU putting them on the Euro. While this could benefit or hurt Scotland (depending on who you ask) it most definitely would weaken the rest of the UK ( N. Ireland, England, Wales) which could cause the weakening of one of the U.S.' most loyal ally and could also disrupt the balance of the EU in the sense (the UK and France balancing the power of Germany). These are just my thoughts but I'm interested in hearing the thoughts of ye olde fishkeepers.
