Considering adding either ropefish or fire eels to my tank.

I have a concern about the fx6 outflow head, I'm afraid they could swim inside and get trapped in the filter hose or casing.

Anyone know of a good solution?
Maybe take some fishing nets and use cable strips to attach to the outflow?

Anyone dealt with this scenario before?

They make baskets that go around pump intakes, you could pretty easily silicone one to your fx6 outflow. Or just buy 1/4" plastic mesh at your local craft store and silicone it around it.

I'd say its a good idea to do something. I doubt they'd get up there while it's running, but if they get curious when it's off for maintenance they could get in a bad spot.

Make sure to cover the top too. I'd say most lost eels in the hobby are jumpers.
