Me and my grandfather were out on his boat yesterday and we were anchored right in between the bay bridges on the chesapeke bay. And we hadnt gotten that many fish all day. As we were reeling in lines and packing up a line still in the waters drag suddenly goes wizzing out. It must have taken out 50+ foot of line before i grabbed the rod. I knew immediately it was gonna break the rod if it went under the boat. Sure enough after 2 minutes of fighting it goes under the boat and continues swimming like crazy to the other side of the bay. The line breaks ... We couldn't drive the boat to follow it cause we were anchored. No telling how big it was. We were in 14 foot of water. Probably a monster rockfish. Next time we go back we aren't coming back empty handed.
