Would this work if you did a smaller pbass like a kelberi? Would the pbass be able to handle moderately aggressive cichlids like Oscars, Severums, mild Vieja sp., Jack Dempsey, Parachomis loiselle, etc.? What would be the rule on how big the cichlid would have to be to avoid getting eaten by the pbass?

It works as long as the require same water parameters and and are about the same size so know one gets swallowed. Also nothing extremely aggressive

Ok, that's what I figured. Any idea what size the adult cichlid would have to be to avoid being eaten by the adult Kelberi? Would something 10in and over, and deep and stocky (like a Jack Dempsey or Severum) be ok?

I'd say in the 12in to 16 in mark should be fine just make sure the cichlids aren't picking on the bass and the bass aren't picking on them. So similar size and nothing overly aggressive

I have a peacock bass with a flower horn and a jaguar cichlid.

I don't know what is the eventual outcome though. Fingers crossed

Good luck with that flowerhorn they can be Nasty as hell! There are the occasional ok ones. And the jag will either work or he will be nasty it will depend on the temperament of the fish. Also your going to need a big tank haha

Right now the peacock bass is the most docile then the jaguar cichlids then the flower horn
