Hi guys, have a quick question. I am planning to setup a 30 gallon tank. Tank measurements are 77 cm x 45 cm x 33 cm. What CA/SA cichlids can go in here? Would a single firemouth work?

Convicts for sure. They don't get too large, but still have a nice aggression and energy to them. Very easy to breed if you are into that, and great parents. Would definitely recommend these feisty little guys.

I wouldn't recommend breeding convicts in a 30. They are great parents- meaning you could end up with 60 fry every month or so where most actually survive. I'd get all females or all males. You also won't be able to put anything living in with a breeding pair, they will gang up on much larger fish (and eventually harass them to death)to make the tank safe for their babies

I would do something you could sell the babies from, have a small tank for babies then do like some hardier rams or something, small dithers up top, idk.
