Guys, I currently have a 2-3" Firemouth. I want to make a mini biotope for it in a 30 gallon. It will be the only firemouth in there.

Any suggestions as to how i can accomplish this?

I would do a 3d background, sand substrate, some rocks, and drift wood. I add crushed coral to my substrate to up the ph.

Is this a separate tank set up from your other thread on the 30 gallon? Might want to just have them combine the threads if not. Could get confusing. I do like firemouths.

Nice odea... would thos setup be able to hold another firemouth and some swordtails or platies?
Unless you have a breeding pair you will be fine, but it maybe best w/ a single FM. Swordtails and platties are great w/ firemouths so I would add them for sure.

I love firemouth one of my favorite fish. For a biotope I would add sand, round river rocks, some drift wood and long slender plants. For additional fish I would go with the sword tails as well. Can't wait to see pics.

Oh and no need to up the PH for firemouth.
