Just bought 60 Sarracenia venosa purpurea seeds from california carnivores in the hope of trying a new method for growing them. I read on one of the plant forums that their growth can be increased by raising them in 24 hour light for their first 2 years. Also, by putting their water tray on top of a heating pad. My school has a grow-chamber with 4 T5's so Im hoping to try this out. Right now the seeds are going through stratification in the fridge and In 4-6 weeks they should be ready for planting! I'll be sure to keep this updated

The seeds:

Hopefully what they'll end up looking like (not my pic):

Yeah, squatter and shorter than a lot of the southern "trumpet" pitchers. They're one of the most northernly species of pitcher

I crash at the K-Pg
Good stuff! I love pitcher plants. I have (had at least) three species on my land, though I haven't seen some in a while. I also have sundews and butterworts and possibly bladderworts.

It's awesome that you have such an array of bug eating plants growing naturally on your land.
