I have a livingstonii female who has been holding for a few days. I set up a 10gal to hold her in and allow her to spit her fry naturally. During the process of moving her, she spat out a few of the eggs into the net. I put her in the ten gallon and a few minutes later she picked up the eggs that were laying on the bottom of the tank.

You guys think the eggs she picked up are ok. I saw them float from the net to the bottom and they looked fine. They are only a few days old so nothing really formed but I could tell they were alive.

Any insight is much appreciated... thank you.

As long as she picked them up again, after a few moments, and still holding, they should be fine.
The constant movement in her mouth helps to keep them free on debris, and fungus.
