We have about 50 Red Streak Severum fry that appear to be just Gold Severums. Will they change color in time or will they stay yellow. They are about the size of a quarter now and are showing no red. The fry are from our own Red Streaks who have nice color. Do only a few ever color up or will it just take time?

There have been very few successful spawns from super red severums and no one has come forward to explain how they were created. A lot of people will tell you they're a line-bred color morph that are derived from golds, but I'm not convinced that there is something unnatural about them. Having 100% gold fry wouldn't be surprising if that's the case. They may color up later since most severums don't start to color up until 3 - 4", but it's possible they'll just stay golds.

Line breeding sounds right but even then you would think a few reds would appear in a spawn. As after a while it should become a stronger trait.
