As the title states, how have your Bichir tanks evolved over the years? I started keeping Polypterus back in 2001 with a Delhezi and a Sen.
Tank decor stayed the same for the first five years until I joined MFK and started to see others tanks.
Here is my look back on my tanks. Here are the first 4 phases I went though from about 2001 to 2011. Next Post will be more current.

Pics are out of order with the fourth one being the original tank set up.

In 2012 I started with live plants after seeing JamesF tank. I also made the move to sand and never looked back

And finally this past summer I moved to a 180 gall. This is the current set up. I had found the light Pfs had washed out the patterns on some of my bichirs. The darker mix has complemented most of them quite well with the exception of my congicus who has blacked out

I started out with 2 bichirs in a 75g and progressed to the 180 with 13 bichirs, and 2 gobies
MFK has certainly inspired my keeping

Your bichirs look great. I have 2 endlicheri. the biggest I believe is 10 inches and the smallest is 4. I also have 3 marble goby 2 at 7 inches and 1 at 4.5 inches. They are pretty cool don't move much unless stalking food non the less awesome fish
