Does anyone know when the best time of year is (month, season, or both) to catch Blue Catfish? Specifically in Southern Ohio. I found this charter last year that looks really good for catfish (channels, Flatties, or blues) in Cincinnati and I'm wanting to try it soon. Any thoughts?

Anyone? I've heard some say Summer because they're more active and others say Winter because they're close together.

I caught a bunch on last sat using bluegills, I've noticed they are quite active unless dealing with temperature extremes....

I'd say just like the other species you have the best luck late spring/early summer. Around spawning and during the summer when the night time temp drops is when I have the best luck with all species. Don't have blue around me though sooooo I could be off on them. Thats not to say you dont catch them all the way through october too, catfishing is good year round up here usually.
