In one of my 20 highs (24"x12"x16") I currently have this stock.

  • 2 Greenside Darters (2" and 2.5" now)
  • 1 Rainbow Darter (2" now)
  • 2 Swamp Darters (both 1" now)
  • 2 Bluefin Killifish (both 1.5" now)
  • 1 Pugnose Minnow (1.5" now)
  • 4 Silverjaw Minnows (all 2.75" now)
  • 2 Redside Dace (both 3" now)

I know that's stocked as is but to avoid stress I'd like to add another 2 Redside Dace for now until I upgrade the tank soon to a 30 long where I can have 6 of each minnow species. I feed twice a day and do 50% water changes once a week (might be overdoing it but it can't hurt). Filtration is a sponge filter with tons of carpet algae on and around it to take out some nitrates, as well as Hornwort ("the nitrate sponge" as I call it) and Water Sprite. Do you guys think it would hurt to add another two dace for now or should I wait until I upgrade? (upgrading will be anywhere from next week to the end of the year, IDK yet but I'm waiting to find a 30 long for $30 or less)
