Plan to have a 40 gallon tank with a razorback musk hatchling with a large firemouth cichlid and a few other fish (nothing larger than 3"). I know the turtle needs land and heat but do these turtles need UVA/UVB?

My firemouth isn't too aggressive. He's with some other central/south american cichlids and he's one of the underdogs, even though he had quite the temper some time back. He learned his leason after flaring his gills at my Vieja Maculicauda (Black belt cichlid) and got beat up badly haha.

At the size it would take a fish to not be eaten by a turtle, the fish could eat the turtle. Keep them separate, and yes, they need UVA/UVB
