I've had a segenal bichir for over a year now and he hasn't grown very much I know he isn't a short bichir. I feeding him shrimp and he is in a 30 gallon tank. Do I need to do more water changes how much water should I replace a week?

Bigger tank would help , bigger wcs 50% per week , and varied diet of he won't eat pellet try muscles , whitebait aswell as shrimp , you can also season or stuff the shrimp with small pieces of pellet to help pellet train him and get a bit more nutrition in him
Good luck :)

They seem to grow faster at warmer temps too.

i agree.. but to me the main factor is its diet.. in fact, im experiencing it right now.. in 9months my endli only grow about 4".. i only feed it earthworms and sometimes live ghost shrimps because tht is the only possible food tht i can get for him.. there is no special food being sold at my place and being a 16yrold it's kinda complicated :p btw, ive heard tht they eat sinking pellets as well :)

He will go into a 150 gallon aquarium, but he has to grow more or else he will be eaten! I will try larger water changes. Thanks

More info please. A huge difference if it is 3" or 7". A lot of cb sens do not have a ton of growth potential. That said, water quality, temp and diet as stated above are big factors
