Picked up a used stand that has seen better days paint wise. I want to re paint it. I was going to just paint it black over the existing brown paint now. Would you suggest using a rattle can or a roller? Won't need to sand or prime it since it has a few base coat already. Would like to hear first hand experience with either method.

I hate brushes, so I would do spray paint. I painted my DIY 180 stand using cheapo Walmart enamel spray paint....less than $1 a can. Of course, I had to use a brush to apply the polyurethane as the final coats. Not positive, but I do believe they do sell polyeurethane in a spray can.

I like rattle can over a brush, faster and better looking results IMO. I re-sprayed my 55 gallon iron stand with Rustoleum Satin Finish Black and am very happy with the results.
