Are you thinking of a specific color or look? Because there are alot of barbs, tetras, danios, rainbow fish, etc that you could do

What kind of tank? If you're looking for tank ideas I'd do a peaceful native community. Some SRBDs or Cyprinella Shiners would make a nice peaceful schooler.

Depending on your definition of peaceful, you can't go wrong with a school of tiger barbs, they are very playful with each other and are peaceful by my standards (i.e. no damage, killing etc).

Couple of severums if you want big peaceful cichlids.

Congo tetras became our favorite small peaceful fish.
Very colorful and school. We have them in a 30g The 55 has two puffers, those two are anything but peaceful.

Moonlight grommies are peaceful and look good with a mid size range that a pair would fill a 55 nice.
Also any type of "rainbow" fish. We had Aussies but GARfield finally ate them all when we moved them and him to the 160.
