So I was sitting on the sofa watching a film, beer in hand, relaxed after a long weekend working on the stand and doubling my return pipes to the tank when I here the biggest splash since I've built the tank.

i look up and my female Orbignyi is right at the top of the tank, the end of her tail out of the water. And then I notice my male motoro upside down, under her 'doing the deed'. I shot up off the sofa and tried to grab the iPad to film it, not in a weird way! But either way I missed it.

I have have a few questions as this is the first time I've had my fish mate,
1. my male was very out of breath after, and was twitching his claspers, I imagine this is normal?
2. How long until I really need to keep a look out for pups?
3. Is there anything out of the ordinary I should feed her? She currently had muscles, prawns, white bait and hikari pellets.
4. Anyone got pics of a motoro x orbignyi?

thanks

Congrats.
Males usually rub their butts on the sand or bottom of the tank. Kinda funny looking.
Movement at about 2 months. Pups should be born in about 120 ish days.
Feed heavy once they get going. You will start to tell she will get an even bigger Appetite.
Enjoy

Motoxorb should be a cool combo. I would prob expect a faster gestation like a motoro, around 90 days

Get the pup tank ready!
