IMO- you still might want to consider having a percentage of this go below ground for temp stability. That would keep things from getting too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Learn to use Google Sketchup and make a detailed blueprint of the build before you start. I probably spend more time in the design process, than anything else. I'll have a step by step procedure written down and the project completely built in my head before I spend $1. Do practice runs before the real the thing also. That's with sawing wood, drilling holes, applying silicone, cutting and installing glass, using a router, painting, fiberglassing, making concrete, ect... Going through the motions helps a lot. Think "Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax off. ... Very good, Daniel-san." I always have blueprint in front of me and a "To Do" list when I'm building something.
