it's a Zonatum hybrid. But that might be over thinking/assuming.

one of these:
Vieja Guttu or Zonatum

I'd say Zonatus/Coatzacoalcos. Very hard to tell Zonatus from Coatz. I'd say your fish is one of those. Just call it Zonatus for now, and when it's full grown you'll probably be able to tell if it's a Coatz or not. How large is the fish in the pic?

Thanks guys. He's 7". Can you post some pics of Coatzacoalcos? Is that a zonatus from a specific location or a whole different species?

I THINK Zonatus and Coatzacoalcos are 2 different species. But, that was a subject of debate at one time.
