So I am building a new 90 gallon tropheus or discus system(haven't deci on the fish yet). That being said, I was wondering what is the best filtration system for fresh water. Do I build a sump, a wet/dry, get a large canister, a k1 moving bed reactor or a combination of any of them. All idea are welcomed, but please include a reason for your answer.

I know a few guys that like using sponge filters for their discus, as the fish are delicate and don't appreciate strong water flow etc. Other than that, a wet/dry trickle system would be good as it offers a massive area for bacteria to grow, sump for the same reason.
