Hello everyone,

I am setting up a new saltwater tank and i would like some input and advice on stocking it. i have created a sort of wish list of the fish i would like to keep but im not sure if it is too many fish for my tank. so i have a 110gallon (60x18x24) with a corner overflow with a 30gallon sump. my pump is doing 1500gallons per hour, so a turn over rate of almost 15. i am also running a skimmer. so here is my wish list for this tank.

x2 Engineer Goby

x1 One Spot Blenny

x1(male) McCosker's Flasher Wrasse

x1 Red Stripe Angelfish

x1(male) Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse, 3inchs

x2-3? (female) Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse

x1 Ocellaris Clownfish

x1 Flame or Red Hawkfish ? not sure which is the better choice, if any.

so these two i like but im not sure if they work with what i have above.

x1 Orange Spot Goby ?

x3-5 Chalk Bass ?

any input or advice on this will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Are you going to use live rock?
Is it going to be FOWLR, fish only, or do you want corals?
Have you considered a fuge?

i am going to use live rock, and i plan on having some sponges, and mushrooms, and some other soft corals, but nothing fancy or crazy. i have thought about adding a fuge it just depends on if i have to room to do so. my wife likes to have her section of the stand as a sort of compromise. so as of now most of the room is taken up by the sump.

I would watch for agrees soon between the wrasses. You might have a problem between the males.

that's what i thought but it was recommended to me that i get two, because it will cause them to compete for females just as they would in the wild, but i do have a concern about one killing the other. besides the potential aggression between the males, is my stock list ok? or do i have too many fish for my aquarium on the list?

I would watch the goby pair burying corals. I find it interesting to watch pairs of clowns vs. a single fish. I would watch the angelfish and the corals. My emperor are most of my pest corals.

Are you planing on havering a basic cuc?

I would get one pair of wrasses. I would stay away from the two types of gobys.

I would get one pair of wrasses. I would stay away from the two types of gobies. I think you could do 3 chalk bass and possibly 2-3 green chromois for some movement in the top level.
Have you considered a uv unit for extra water polishing?
Remember you are stocking on the heavy side so test water frequently and be prepared to wait to get the full stock in. And always quarintine.
