Hi everyone !!!

I´ve got two setups that I´m trying to breed FH. One is with a SRD male and a Blue Dragon Female and the other one with one SRD and a RD Female.

1 setup:

Aquarium with 150 liters and currently using some crushed coral just to keep the PH at 7.2. At this one is the first couple. The female is keeping the black strains for more than a week but I don´t see any sign of "laying eggs" activity. They seen to get along, but i keep the divider and just the female is able to pass through but she is always at the male side.

2 setup:

Aquarium with 200 liters with some white sand and PH is also at 7.2. Here we got a SRD with a blue dragon and the female is older ( believe that has 2 years already ) but here with me did not layed any egg so far.

I´ve already switched the couples between the tanks but I was not able to get any good results.

Currently feeding with OKIKO and XO food. Use some Cichlid salt and trace from seachem to help out too.

Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong cause none of the females are laying eggs =/

Thanks for any help on this matter =D

The first setup is promising. Female shows interest with her color...just a matter of time. Since they get along, you can remove the divider. Keep temp high (86) & give high protein diet...I've never used okiko & xo but always thought they have hormones in them to enhance kok size & color. The flat rock & pot appears small...maybe too small for the male to get into to prep for egg laying & fertilizing...a flat clay plate would work best.

Setup 2 may be more difficult because to be successful, the male should be dominant and difficult if the female is the same size or bigger than the male...but not impossible.

Cold water simulates rainwater which encourages spawning. Patience is key...can't rush the process...it'll happen.

Good luck!
