I don't think there is anyway he survives he was out of the water for a long time and there would be a trace of water around him or where he landed where he jumped but the water evaporated plus it was overnight so

I peeled a ropefish off of the carpet after knows how long.
He made it. See my ropefish post in the ancient fish section.

You should have tried.
