So I had an old fluorescent 4' tank light that "hummed", so it got put away... Then I had an idea... Cheap amazon dot com led strip lights (waterproof kind) in daylight white with the 3M adhesive back. I got a 12 foot strip and power supply for just under $20!! Took the old fluorescent tube out of the fixture and ran the LED strip inside the reflector... Wha-Laa... Nice mellow LED in a 4' fixture... I'll see if I can get some pics that show it...

Very nice. I did something like that without the reflector. Got about 16 feet of LED's for $12.49 from ebay. Glued 8 ft of the LED's to some corner moulding and wired it to an old power supply. Still have 8 foot left over for another project. Bought a remote controlled dimmer for $6 too. It's been running for about a year now.
