Odyssea 11i Emergency repair...

Got home from work today to find the return shut off valve on my Odyssea leaking. After pulling it apart and finding no obvious cause, I decided to temporarily eliminate it. The hose return to the tank would not fit over the output directly, so with a few bits from around the house and a quick trip to the hardware store... I made a temporary fix. I will be adding in a proper ball valve in the near future, but for now, no more leaks.

The valve its self was leaking around the sides.

Not real confident about replacing with the same part. I'll add a better quality ball valve instead.

Im looking to replace a couple older canisters and I cannot justify dropping hundreds on a fluval or eheim.

Yes, except for the valves, it seems pretty solid. I would buy a better set of hoses and inline ball valves before setting it up tho'.
