I feed her frozen tilapia her water is in excellent condition and she is housed with 2 jds 2 small loaches and a Raphael catfish. Think the catfish may have stabbed her with a barb? Could this be the culprit?

Update: she survived the night. Still at the bottom of the tank breathing heavily. She spit up some of her dinner from the other night before she was acting strange so hopefully that's a good sign. Hoping for the best for my favorite fish :)

Water sounds like it's good. Hard breathing makes me think water. How long have you had it? Any new introductions?

Makes me wonder about possible parasites. Someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

Thanks for the reply she's looking better today even tried to nibble at my finger again so I think everything is fine now. It looked like she spit up some food but I didn't change her diet or even feed more than usual.

Try offering food when the lights are out. It may eat then

It's been a few days now she looks back to her usual self trying to eat my fingers like earth worms. I think it was an over feeding issue that she never had before
