Not very long I'm guessing five months tops once feeding well and a growth spurt starts they grow very quickly

Dude didn't you already post on this shortbody arow thing? Don't force a fish into a tank thats too small for it, just because you want it and wont/cant upgrade BEFORE purchasing the fish.

Which is fine, but think about it first.

An arowana should not go in a 55 at all. Just not wide enough. 40 breeder might work for a while but a hood is extremely necessary and I think it might be hard to get a 40 breeder hood.
