From where I know short body's are expensive, if u can afford one then a large tank isn't a problem for u , just change the tank when he gets too big for it
Dude didn't you already post on this shortbody arow thing? Don't force a fish into a tank thats too small for it, just because you want it and wont/cant upgrade BEFORE purchasing the fish.
Why can't you just put the aro in the 150 or 300 listed in your profile. Or are you waiting for a bunch of people to say say keep it in the 55 for a couple years?

An arowana should not go in a 55 at all. Just not wide enough. 40 breeder might work for a while but a hood is extremely necessary and I think it might be hard to get a 40 breeder hood.
