Hey Guys,

Just set up a new 65 gallon in my office at work that im going to put a flowerhorn in. Its an all glass tank, bought it at a LFS and holds water (for about 12 hours now) but the seams scare me a bit. If this thing explodes at work im screwed. Is this just a cosmetic thing or is this really a concern for the integrity of the tank? The big round bubbles are not in the seam, just sitting on the outside of the silicone of the inside seam (lots of bubbles since i just filled it up last night). The pics make it look a little worse than it is, but all 4 of the structural seams have this to some degree. Thanks for you help.

Can you take some more up close shots of the seams? It is a bit hard to tell from the distance shots.

Are there bubbles between where the two panels of glass meet? Or just under the bead in the corner? If there are large bubbles between the two panels of glass you have issues, if there are some small ones or if they are only on the edges of the corner bead you'll be fine. Some closer pics of the problem areas and a bit clearer will help a good deal :)

The big bubbles are not in the seam. its the little tiny micro bubbles in the structural seam. the actual water seal seam looks good. Hopefully loading the pic direct makes it look clear/bigger. Thanks for your help.

Are those all micro bubbles between the glass? That would concern me as well. One or two bubbles are not an issue, but that looks like the entire top half of the seam is made up of bubbles. Hate to have to say it, I would not leave that tank up, I'd bring it back to the store for an exchange.

Return it, that's a manufacturing defect. A few small bubbles is ok, but thats very bad

thanks guys. ill see if they have a replacement tank that way i don't have to take the whole thing back. better to only waste $20 in RO water then to blow out a front panel i suppose.
