Don't try with egg crate. Their mouths are pretty darn delicate and get easily damaged from egg crate. I've lost three over the years due to mouth injuries.

Are they showing signs of hexamita in the first and last photos?

One Male is. He has been cured but he has some scars the other two are clean . He is in a tank with my Rainbow wolves which does not have much flow due to the plants in heir tank together that or get killed by the other male. I will likely use a different divider possible glass .. I will have to give that some thought.
