Is 2500 gph with zero head pressure? What is the diameter of your return(s)? I believe you will need to throttle back your pump, but probably not much. If I recall correctly 1" pvc will drain around 800 gph if it is not set up as a siphon, but dont quote me on that.

Return is 1" pvc as well, and I believe its 2500gph@4ft but I'm not sure I'd have to try and look them up and see if I can find em .... I thought 1" pvc drained more but I maybe wrong ...

Drains are the DIY pvc copied from uray joey on youtube, same style as that.

1" with a 24" straight drop full siphon will drain about 1200 gph. With that homemade overflow you wont get anywhere near that for a couple reasons. You wont have a full siphon and with all the turns it will slow the water down a good deal. I might have over estimated on the 800 gph.

I have 3 overflows (1.5 inch PVC) on a 65 gallon tank with a QuietOne 4000 as the return pump. I have to throttle that back a lot to keep it from overtaking the overflows.

Hmmm, wow .... Well maybe I'd be beetter off to get a eshopps overflow box the 1200 or 1800 and just have it n my sump rather then the diy pvc ones .... Or even a crp overflow that allows that kinda gph 1200-2000 maybe ? Less headache and worry and less room taken up in the tank ? What do you guys think ??

I have an Eshopps 1800 set up on my 180 with the dual 1-1/2" drains and a 2100 GPH return pump (at zero head) with about 5 ft of head and I have to throttle that back even. I love the overflow box though, it runs flawlessly.

That's what I'm starting to wonder .... Overflow like that will take up less room inside the tank and will have a better siphon compared to my pvc overflow (diy) .... And doesn't cpr make a overflow box bigger then the eshopps 1800 ? I thought they had something around the 2000gph or more
