I've got what I believe to be (based on observations of the fish while they are laying eggs) a pair of uarus (Uaru amphiacanthoides). They have laid eggs numerous times so I finally decided to give them a real shot at it and gave them their own tank. They've laid eggs 3X in this tank with no positive outcome. At what point would you consider separating the eggs from the parents to at least see if they are a true pair? The TDS in the tank is currently at 48 ppm and the temp is 85.6. Is the TDS too high for the eggs?

I know some other types of blackwater cichlids' eggs need a low tds to hatch, it certainly couldn't hurt to try lowering the tds and seeing what happens. Also what is the ph?
