I joined this sight to find some help and i hope that someone within MFK can give me some good information and advice.
I am building a new home and intend on constructing a new 4000 gallon aquarium within the foundation of the house.
Basically it will be below ground level constructed of concrete and have a viewing panel from within the basement.
I would like to know if there is special concrete and re-bar required for such a construction.
Also if i could get a list of top quality components with the name of the manufacture and model numbers it would be very helpful.
I originally wanted a cold salt water aquarium but was told it may be too difficult. My new home will look over the ocean and access to natural salt water is easy.
My intention was to circulate the ocean through the aquarium but there are apparently some legal issues with that. Therefor i may resort to a tropical salt water reef tank.
i would appreciate any helpful feed back i can get.
