Finally found someone in Scotland selling peacock bass and they're pretty local too! They are currently 9-10" and he is asking £40 each, he says he's sure they're ocellaris but he's going to get pics when he gets home for me. Couple of questions as i've never kept them before, do peacock bass have to be kept in groups? How long would one or two be ok in a 260 (7x30"x2)? What's the average size for these in home aquaria? Would my female jag and oscar work ok with them?

They don't need to be in groups.
You should be able to keep to of them in your tank for a good amount of time, possibly for life. They can reach over the 2' mark with good care but 20"-22" is more common. They should be fine with your jag and oscar, but they will fight a little over territory.

There will be plenty of pics! He's willing to sell all 4 of them for £140 but I reckon he might go a bit lower.. Very tempting :D

He sent me a couple of pictures, not the best quality and in the second picture it looks like there might be a bit of HITH but I could be wrong.. Either way i'm viewing them tomorrow night :)

Anyone have any advice on feeding? I know they're aggressive eaters but what's a good staple to have them on?

I think it could become pretty expensive feeding massivore every day, costs around £20 for 380 grams here (or about $31 for 0.8 pounds). Are they ok with market shrimp and frozen fish a couple of days per week?

Frozen market shrimp, frozen tilapia, massivore, carni floating, large cichlid gold from time to time. You'd want them to be willing to take as many foods as possible.
