Do you think a del, a senegalensis, a retro, and a rope would be fine living I a trash can with filters and all the other bells and whistles for about a week as I re-do the tank they are currently in?

I wouldn't as water is never good long term where garbage and bacteria are present. I would recommend to go to Walmart and get a plastic storage tub and use that.

I would assume that common sense would dictate a new garbage can but can't tell what people are thinking. Lol.

You'll be fine. I've kept fish in obscure containers for short periods of time with no ill effects.

The species didn't get to be millions of years old because they're delicate :)

They should be fine. I would get some plastic plants or something though that float so that they will be comfortable.
