Never tried with my 240's, but like any pleco..cave dimensions are crucial. Water volume not so, in most cases. Did you try PC to see on proper dimensions for caves?

I have many diffént cave sizes ranging from 15" to 7" different diameter. No kip entrance. I figured trying out different water parameters and area of the tank might help. Will see

ok, I noticed that now you were looking for a change of params rather than a change in gallons to be the focus. gd idea. Keeping them in dark conditions most of the time can help getting the action going from my little experience in pleco breeding. Are they in the 180 by themselves? What's a kip entrance?
