Are hybrid mbunas sterile?

I ended up unknowingly purchased a hybrid mbuna when i went on a buying spree at the lfs..didnt realize this until i got home, looks like a trewavasae or fulleborni mixed with something else which i dont know. I can tell this much because the mouth looks about 50% like the two mentioned species. Anyway, he does look very cool but ive heard hybrid mbunas even from different genuses can still reproduce. Is this true? Do i have to worry about him breeding with female species in my tank?
