A fellow in the local reef club is selling a uv sterilizer. It's a Laguna Power Clear Max 2000, 25 watt bulb with flow rate up to 1000gph. I don't run a uv on my ray tank, but thought about picking this unit up. Anyone know about these units? Worth picking it up? It doesn't have a pump with it.

Tank is 6' x3' x 21" high (holds about 200 gals). Includes 2 hystrix Rays at the moment plus a couple of earth eaters, tetras, and various catfishes.

Will work for 200g. Just make sure it's a good deal cause bulbs are expensive.

Is that an inline uv sterilizer? Never heard of that one. I have used submersibles and now I have an AquaTop400 filter with a uv sterilizer. If you do purchase this one, please share. I would like to know if its worth having for my next tank.

Thank you.
It is a good deal. Looks like an older model and will probably need a new bulb.

I think it is an inline unit, or could be made into one. Still haven't decided if I'm going to get it. Never have used one and not sure if I really need too.

Bulbs are cheap £16 per year

Used units are cheap as little as £20 for a 25w

I wouldn't run a tank without a uv
They are cheap to run cheap to maintain

It's all about flow rate if you run canister filter workout which one to match to it then just put it on the return pipe

Lots of threads on hear about uv do a search
