so i decided to start my UGF with surface skimmer for my 20gal long.

basically gonna be for some mollies and self cloning crayfish so i can
use them to feed to my guys as a treat.

here it is so far, will probably finish it on wed but no rush.

whats your thoughts?DIYUGF.jpgDIYUGF1.jpgDIYUGF2.jpg

looks great but the only potential problem i see is that mollie (and most other live bearer fry) dart to the top of the tank and stay there for a little while so they are away from trouble. If you have a skimmer, they will all be sucked in unless you cover it with a grate with really small holes.

yeah i was thinking that. i have screen i can cover it with... the mollies are just a thought.. mainly for crayfish, i was just adding a few fish to clean up food.
so any fish would be fine.

almost there... the tubes do not seem to be cured yet
as i can still smell the silicone. i had them in my garage
so i am guessing that the cold temp slowed the curing
process. so i am going to wait until i put them in the water.DIYUGF4.jpg

well all done and getting ready to cycle..
just gonna give it time to cycle and make
sure the temp is stable in my cold garage.
