I'm going to be starting a 30 Gallon fish tank and wondering what sort of fish do you think would fit in there any suggestions? I'm considering getting some Kuhli Loaches but I'm not sure what else would go great with them. :(

How about some blue Rams, diamond tetras, and panda corys?

go with the 55, way more options for stock.

loaches are the best, I dont have kulhis but my clown loaches are the best fish by far.

Might also consider just going with a 55 Gallon as my friend is trying to convince me to go with one.
If you can do a 55, then go with a 55

What are some good options for the 55?
depends what type of fish you enjoy/if you are going to upgrade and how fast you will upgrade.

currently I have 3 55 gallon tanks running:

1 with a 6" yellow bullhead but he will be in a 310 in a week or so.

1 with 2 redfin pickerel in it.

1 with 1 koliba bichir, 1 senegal bichir, and 3 clown loaches. They will be in a 150 by this weekend.

You could do a sweet schooling fish tank, tetras, barbs, things like that. or there are some smaller cichlid species that would do fine in a 55.

It's always better to go for the biggest tank you can. However keep in mind, a larger tank will require larger amounts of water being changed.

A larger tank will open up a wider choice of fish.
