Hey guys! I have decided I am ordering a florida gar this week, but do not want to wind up with an alligator gar. Would anyone be able to help me identify the following gar, so that I can be sure of what I am getting? I have seen pictures of each, and understand that the spots are much more prominant on the florida gar, but do not want to make a mistake. If you know of any legitamite dealers selling florida or spotted gar, let me know!

check your lfs to see if they have Florida gar or if they can get them for you first. Lfs can be cheaper than ebay.
Or if you are in south Georgia you can go check your local water to see there might be Florida gar to catch.

I'm in the Atlanta area. Unfortunately the LFS can only provide gator gars.

The first ad shows Florida Gars - but when you get into online distributors, they often do not show the actual fish for sale, so you may still end up with something else.

A local store - just have them order some in, that way you can see if they actually are Floridas before buying one. (If they try to stick it to you - just tell them it's not what you ordered.)

ask your lfs owner if he can get florida gar for you, if not you can look for snookn in the MFK vendor or in aquabid.
