Came home to find the filter drained of water. Earlier i changed the substrate to sand. Cleaned it well then put it in the tank then did a large wc turned the filter back on and every thing was fine. The motor runs but the impeller doesnt spin.

Anyone have any ideas or am I going to be buying another filter

Stick your finger in and push down on the propeller (or use a stick of some sorts) .. sometimes they stall and need a little help going again.

Had the same thing happen once and that fixed it for me as well.
Also now when I clean the filter impeller and such, I use a toothpick to put a little waterproof silicone grease on the shaft to prevent stuff getting in there and stalling it again.

I've only had this happen on the smaller AC filters, never on a 110. Due to the smaller motor size I guess.
