can largemouth bass be caught in water of 33 or less degrees , if no , what fish can be caught in such cold water ?

they can but they will be extremely lethargic. I fish throughout the winter here but our water rarely goes below 38-40 degrees.

ya , they do have lmb here , most of them stocked in private ponds for fishing , some escaped into wild waters .

winter fishing for LMB is going to be more so a reaction bite rather than a feeding response. Lures that will get their attention and basically piss them off enough to bite. I would recommend the rapalla xrap. It is a neutrally buoyant lure that has different size shovels for different depths. It has great action in the water crank it down deep and work it slow flicking the tip of your rod to get it to dash around. Pop sit pop sit. Will be a very slow retrieve. Also if you can work a shaky head or texas rig around rock beds where the sun has heated the rocks and water up. Best of luck to you.
