They're all cool. But what makes some cooler than others? Some have 3 or more spots. Some have no spots at all on their sides. Size of tbe pink splotch varies, too. And some have tbe fluorescent spot around their eyes. Some keep their bars, or do they all lose that when they get big? Do they all get bright green?

Educate me.

Location of wild ones, line breeding for traits, and then your basic tank stock.

All three will vary and some variation between those even. Everyone has opinions and preferences on what prefer. Once you see a ton of spots, pearling etc you creep on the topic of "is this a flowerhorn"

Yes you treat these like midevils. Unless you get it from a reputable breeder you have a hybrid.

True trimac's look relatively the same to me. some will be more vibrant color wise.

Ours only bars and goes bright green around a female. Agree on buying from a reputable breeder but even then there is a lot of variation on flowering, profile, etc.

Our male is from Gage, female is Rapps and we have 4 smaller Rapps growouts.
