I had initially only wanted to view them. But i guess i've been a pretty good boy this year because i was quoted a decent price and ended up bagging all 5 pieces. I should leave home without my wallet in the future when viewing fishes!

The tiles are 1x1ft so they'll give you a good indication of the Gars' sizes.

There was a really fat Trop and I suspect she could be carrying eggs because as soon as I put her in the Trop already in the pond started following her all over the place, much like Aros do.

That's the thing I love about Gars. They recognize their own species and interact with each other the way other fishes don't. And they never fight. Only injuries I've ever encountered are when two pieces attack the same piece of food and wound each other.

Here's a Gold-Line Wolf Fish, Hoplerythrinus Unitaeniatus. About 8-10"?

Other fishes in the pond include a pair of 10" Flagtails 14-15" Australian Lungfish, 24" WC PBB, 14" Channa Diplogramma and a few other 12-14" WC Bichirs. There's also a 20" common Pleco.

Their home is a 20x10x3.5ft pond. In the midst of doing up a 4x2x2 FGT for smaller fishes to grow before they go into the pond permanently.

Thanks for viewing!
