Please help me with my sump pump

I have a rio 2500 plus that the ajustable valve seems to pop out some and messes up my water levels should I just put a ziptie around it to keep it put and set it around that. And another question my water level sucks down to were the sump pump sucks a little air would this harm my sump pump or cause any problems if I just let it suck air if it stats at that level I just can't seem to get the water level fixed but maybe if I ziptie that valve put it will fix it idk it's just pushing to much water pressure and makes it pop out

Air entering the pump in the volute and around the impeller is/causes cavitation, which after a time will pit the impeller, ruining the pump.
The depth of the water in the sump needs to be deep enough to not suck in air.

Try a zip tie, if it works, it works.
When stuff doesn't hold for me, I use hose clumps from the hardware store, like the one holding the tube to the venturi on the powerhead below.
