Hi,

I want some Photos growing over my tank hood, so I went to the garden centre and they gave me the off cuts below:

I also go these pool filter strainers for them to sit in:

My question is, do I need to do anything special to the plant or can I just suspend the strainer in the water?

I was going to put the vines into the strainer them hang the strainer into the tank like the picture below:

The person in the garden centre said that they are toxic to cats and dogs, do I have to worry about the fish?

Thanks

My SD's chewed on the roots of my plant SD's still going strong, If you don't have any herbivores in your tank I would just strip a couple of the leaves off, and stick plant partially in aquarium or even a HOB filter if using one.

Any leaf that is going to be under water remove that. Make sure a nub is in the water, give it light and let it go

I have American cichlid, and they just destroy anything, that's why I got the strainer.

When I cut the leaves of do I need to worry about the sap? Or can I just cut it and then put the cut in the water?

No you don't have to worry about the sap.just cut and put in tank plant &roots are not toxic to any fish my fish chee on the roots all the time still both are going strong

Just drop in in there and it will take of like crazy,if you add a CFL bulb to it,it will take off better.

Good luck

my fish don't graze on plants but you have no worries about them being poisonous. You will however love the lower nitrate readings if you put a big enough pothos farm in haha.

I use these shower large acrylic shower caddies from Walmart to hold my pothos. They come with suction cups on the back some installation is a snap. Here are pics I recently took during w/c of my 29 and 75
